Welcome to Our Blog

Welcome to AtlanticMaritimeLaw.com.  This site is dedicated to the hard working men and women of the marine industry.

The American legal system is split into two parts, federal and state.  The dividing line between these two parts is often ambiguous.  Nowhere is the ambiguity more pronounced than where water meets land.  Marine industry owners, suppliers, managers, customers, and workers often find themselves straddling this divide and lost in a haze of conflicting laws, courts, and procedures.

The goal of this site is to highlight and discuss common situations where you should consider hiring a lawyer, specifically a maritime lawyer.  Every legal situation is different.  Our updates and feature articles are not designed to give you specific legal advice; rather, they are designed to get you thinking and to help you have an intelligent conversation with a qualified maritime lawyer.
