Arctic Opportunities: Exploring New Passages for Business Growth in the Arctic & North Atlantic

Changes in the shipping routes have placed Maine businesses on the doorstep of the Arctic and Northern Europe. Thanks to the addition of Eimskip, it now costs less to ship a container to Norway than it does to truck it to Maryland. Is your business ready to take advantage of these new opportunities in the North Atlantic? On Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM,  Verrill Dana’s North Atlantic & Artic Group will host a full day seminar exploring how your business or industry sector can take advantage of these opportunities.

Panel discussions will examine important topics for expanding opportunities in the Artic & North Atlantic such as transportation & logistics, business support & grants, investment & finance, as well as trade & tax issues. In addition, breakout sessions will dive into how Arctic opportunities will affect the economic landscape for particular industries, including infrastructure and construction; technology, research, and citizen science; and seafood and craft beverage. Keynote speakers Kuno Fencker and Pele Broberg, of Greenland Trading, will call in live from the Arctic.
